WEEE Challenges

There are two aspects to the lighting sector:

• fluorescent lamps
• luminaires

Complex obligations - Each sub-sector has its own rules under the WEEE legislation with differences as to what is obligated and how the solutions are attained.

Hazardous Nature - Fluorescent Lamps and Gas Discharge Lamps contain materials which are classed as hazardous. This can have storage implications when these items reach their end-of-life.
