Healthcare
B2B Compliance is now recognised as the definitive scheme solution for those Producers supplying electrical and electronic equipment to non-household final users - specifically into the healthcare sector.
While, generally, final users are unaware of the development of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment legislation, key players in the healthcare sector, ABHI, DoH, NHS, PASA and NHS Logistics have been debating this waste issue for a number of years. B2B Compliance has recognised the raised awareness in this sector and the complexities that face healthcare providers across a broad range of sites embraced by over 300 Trusts and include GP surgeries, dentists, care homes, and individual hospitals.
The UK Government expects certain industry sectors such as Healthcare, to develop its solutions in partnerships between producers and final users. B2B Compliance, along with ABHI, has been instrumental in the creation of a Working Group within the healthcare sector which seeks to address issues and identify workable and pragmatic solutions.
While our objective is to protect Producers' interests we are also seeking to solve of the challenges facing our members' customers.
B2B Compliance hosted a Healthcare- Sector focused seminar on 23rd November 2006, which was also addressed by the DTI. A further Working Group meeting was held on 23rd January 2007 - one of the key outputs being comments for the NHS Guidance (available to Members via the Members Area) to its Procurement Managers that purchases should not be made from Producers who do not advise of their Producer Declaration Number.
B2B Compliance is supported by a range of Trade Associations and there has been particular support from such Trade Associations in the medical and healthcare sectors.
