Lighting

There are two aspects to the lighting sector – the fluorescent lamps and the luminaires. Each sub-sector has its own rules under the WEEE legislation with differences as to what is obligated and how the solutions are attained. B2B Compliance can attain compliance for Producers in either or both markets – without the need for a “per item” charge up front.

The B2B Compliance team was closely associated with the Lighting industry’s various approaches to meeting the WEEE Legislation through its work with both Recolight and Lumicom – the two Lighting Industry focused schemes. Where B2B Compliance differs is that it can handle other product lines as well while the lighting industry schemes concentrate on their areas of specific interest.

PLASA LOGOB2B Compliance is supported by the Professional Lighting and Sound Association PLASA, that recommends B2B Compliance to its Members as its choice of scheme to meet the WEEE Legislation. B2B Compliance provides a simple-to-use system that allows the lighting sector producers to minimise the impact of WEEE on their businesses - with innovative approaches to ensure that the impact of the legislation is minimised and that the benefits that can be drawn from the WEEE legislation are optimised.

While our objective is to protect Producers' interests we are also seeking to solve the challenges facing our members' customers.

Another area of concern is the removal of the old WEEE and the timing of this action to ensure minimal adverse impact on the Members’ clientele. Again, B2B Compliance has come up with a range of alternatives designed to meet the most commonly faced scenarios – but with the flexibility to meet such alternatives that the Member may wish to put forward.
